The lovely market town of Helston is only a 5 minute drive and has a wide variety of shops, restaurants and takeaways along with individual boutiques and even a famous 18th century pub renowned for brewing their own ales.  There is also Coronation Park, which is great for children as there is a boating lake, outdoor play area and skate park, also a great cafe with a grass roof!

Jump in the car and you are 10 minutes from the gorgeous golden sands of Praa Sands, 20 minutes away from Falmouth and St Ives, and 40 minutes from Truro, which has an excellent new park and ride facility enabling you to enjoy the sites and sounds of Truro without worrying about parking.

Local places of interest:

Loe Bar is a sandbank created by storms which cut off the Cober Valley from the sea and is also an area of outstanding natural beauty and scientific interest.  This is situated about a 3 minute drive where you can enjoy the beautiful walk from Helston to Loe Bar along he way of which there is plenty of local wildlife and bird watching.

The Eden Project is about a 40 minute drive away, these offer a fantastic day out, there are lots of activities to undertake, including browsing the bio domes, garden and plant events, kids and family events and music and art shows.  They also have open air ice skating in the winter months.

Flambards Themepark is located right in Helston, and is a fun day out for all the family.
